It seems to have come out of one of Princess Sharāzād's tales, the "Room of Arab decorations", also known as the "Chamber of Wonders". In Palermo in via Porta di Castro, you will enter a room with an aura of mystery.
Up until a little over a year ago, there was a small room with Arab-style walls covered with several layers of plaster. Its history and function are still shrouded in mystery: according to the opinion of experts, it would be a place used for initiatory rites linked to Freemasonry and Islamic esotericism. This would be confirmed by the symbols present on the walls and the repetition of the number seven (in the walls of the room, in the distribution of the writings, in the number of lamps). Probably made in the nineteenth century, it is characterized by elegant and sinuous arabesque writings in gold and silver on a blue background, evidence of the sublime calligraphic art of the Arabs.
