Built on top of the cliff, overlooking its valley, the Castle of Caccamo, in its imposing structure with four towers, is among the largest castles in Italy and is also among the best preserved and rich in history to see.
You access the castle from a long climb on steps, going up it you will feel like you are taking a dip in the Middle Ages. At the top of the hill you will find a small courtyard with fifteenth-century buildings. Inside the castle you will find the Sala delle Armi, where war weapons, shields and swords are hung on the walls. The mosaic floors, stables and loggias are well preserved in the castle. Particular are the prisons where you can see the drawings and graffiti made by the prisoners.
