At the center of a feud disputed since the 12th century between the municipalities of Parma and Piacenza, the castle still stands to dominate the course of the Taro river in a crucial point of the valley. Inside the castle: Gambarotta Museum: halls furnished by the last owner, the Marchesa Lina Raimondi Gambarotta.
It houses a rich collection of works of art ranging from the 1600s to the 1900s. International Masonic Museum: the only museum dedicated to Freemasonry in Italy. The first room, Room 33, collects relics donated by the Grand Orient of Italy, Palazzo Giustiniani. Food and wine museum: built in the old kitchens of the castle. Possibility to eat and sleep in the beautiful rooms of the Castle.
