La misteriosa Pyramid of Cheope

La Piramide di Cheope, conosciuta anche come Grande Piramide di Giza o Piramide di Khufu, è la più antica e la più grande delle tre piramidi principali della necropoli di Giza. È la più antica delle sette meraviglie del mondo antico ed è l'unica ad essere ancora in piedi. Gli egittologi ritengono che la piramide sia la tomba del faraone Cheope (IV dinastia) e che sia stata costruita intorno al 2560 a.C. Secondo alcuni fu realizzata dall'architetto reale Hemiunu, con un'altezza originale di 146,6 m, ridotta ai 138,8 attuali a causa dei fenomeni atmosferici.

Such a great and interesting attraction. It's one of my favorite scenes. It was a nice walk especially if your around with a local guide who gives you a short explanation about the history of these amazing landmarks. It's a marvelous structure especially with its massive size of rocks, which were used in the construction of the pyramids. You will be able to see how high it is, and that it really seems to be in a very good condition regardless of its age. It's a must visit place.

Wow! Once in a lifetime trip. Amazing history here. Make sure to take a camel ride, so much fun and they are so gentle. Get a local guide. Take tissue for the toilet. Do NOT talk to the peddlers. Take the tour only of the smaller pyramids behind the big one, that's worth it. Go early in the morning to get there before the heat is intense.
