Tahrir Square (Arabic: ميدان التحرير‎, Maīdān al-Taḥrīr, Liberation Square) is the main square in Cairo. The square has been the site and target of political demonstrations in Cairo, especially those that led to the 2011 Egyptian revolution and the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak.
