Saqqara is one of several necropolises located near Cairo, which offers an interesting retrospective. In fact, Saqqara is considered by some to be even more significant than the Giza necropolis from an archaeological point of view. In fact, this huge site houses the tombs of the period just before the Old Kingdom up to the Greek period. By far the most famous structure is the Step Pyramid of Zoser. Dating back to the third dynasty, (2667 . 2448 BC) this was one of the first complexes entirely built in stone.
