During your visit to Islamic Cairo, the Gayer Anderson Museum is a must-see. This museum offers an incredible mix of Islamic styles and artefacts in two magnificent residences: Beit el-Kiridiliya (1632) and Beit Amna Bent Salim (1540). The museum was founded by a major in the British army, the military doctor John Gayer-Anderson, who restored and furnished the two residences between 1935 and 1942, enriching them with antiques, works of art, furniture, glass artefacts, crystals , carpets, silks and finely embroidered Arab clothes.
