This interesting museum houses many collections that illustrate the geological history of Sicily. It ranges between plant and animal fossil remains of characteristic species of the region.
Search the three rooms of this museum for the exhibits that most fascinate you. Worth seeing are the findings of dwarf elephants that populated Sicily in the middle-upper Pleistocene, the remains of a coral reef with fossilized shark teeth, to arrive at a vast collection of crystals of calcite, aragonite, celestine and rock salt. Full of trivia for adults and fun for children too.
