The Royal National Park is located in New South Wales, Australia, 32 km south of Sydney. Founded by Sir John Robertson, Prime Minister of New South Wales, it was officially established on April 26, 1879, making it the second most oldest national park in the world, after Yellowstone in the United States. Its original name was simply National Park, but it was renamed in 1955, following a visit from Queen Elizabeth II. In July 2006, this park was added to the Australian National Heritage List.
