Darling Harbor is one of the many bays of Port Jackson, the inlet overlooked by the city of Sydney. Darling Harbor is located in a central position, and borders the city to the west, the center of the city. The docks and bay area of Darling Harbor underwent redevelopment in 1988. As a result, a large pedestrian and recreational area was created. Originally part of Sydney Harbour, it went into deep decline in the late 1980s after which it was redeveloped on the initiative of the New South Wales Minister for Public Works, to a design by Arup.
