It is a small castle with a charming village with a wonderful view over the hills. Ideal for a nice trip out of town.
One of the many castles that were part of the defense system created by the great countess Matilda of Canossa. Probably the least known of all even if after the numerous consolidation and restructuring works it is worth a visit together with the small village at its feet. Culturally speaking, the visit is not very demanding, the strong point of this structure is the landscape, from the courtyard and climbing to the top of the keep you can enjoy a spectacular view. Easily reachable from the town of Casina via a comfortable paved road, it is very well signposted by numerous signs placed along the road. Admission is free although only possible on weekends.
