It is the oldest church in the city, founded between the end of the 11th and the beginning of the 12th century, probably at the behest of Matilde di Canossa.
The circular plan is animated on the upper level by a women's gallery and still has traces of the original fresco decoration. Angelic figures and a Christ the judge. The 11th century frescoes are from the Byzantine school.
