On the first floor of Palazzo della Pilotta, a monumental door in painted wood, surmounted by a ducal crown, leads us to the Farnese Theater: a spectacular setting that still preserves the memory of the sumptuous court life of the Farnese Dukes.
Almost completely destroyed by the bombs of 1944 and rebuilt in the modern era, today the theater gives us back one of the most extraordinary theatrical architectures of the seventeenth century. The theater does not have its own stable theatrical programming, but it is often the site of very varied and diverse cultural events during the summer season.
