Ettore Guatelli (1921-2000) dedicated himself with increasing assiduity to the collection of objects that he himself liked to define as "too obvious to be considered important".
Guatelli lovingly collected everything he could tell about life and in the 1950s he began to set up the collections he collected. Today, it is estimated that over 60,000 pieces are kept in the museum. The objects are the material traces of the stories of men and women engaged in daily life. Their reuse and wear and tear speaks to us about it and tells us about a lived experience.
