The building, also called "Delizia" for its architecture embellished with fountains and surrounded by green spaces, for the beauty of the decorations in its rooms and for its happy insertion in the wide Secchia valley, represents a true jewel of the Baroque culture of the Northern Italy.
The rooms were painted by a team of extraordinary artists who well interpreted the ambitious and patronizing spirit of Francesco I. In the large complex of the Palace, which also includes the palatine chapel dedicated to San Francesco, the magnificent Peschiera stands out. The recovery of the Palace, achieved up to now thanks to an intense restoration and museum set-up work, allows full use of the decorated area.
