Torre Sant'Emiliano

Tower Salento, Italy

One of the wildest Places in Salento Torre Sant'Emiliano

Built in the 16th century, during the reign of Charles V, when Salento was a destination for pirates and looters from Albania, Dalmatia and Greece, today it is now reduced to a ruin. The uniqueness of this small watchtower is the vastness of the bay that it dominates, surrounded by crystal clear waters that see the rise of an islet inside them that looks more like a handkerchief of land than a real island.

The peculiarity of this place lies in the fact that by placing yourself in the center of the inlet of the bay, you can enjoy an unparalleled naturalistic panorama: an infinite beach opens up before your eyes, giving a strong sense of peace to the spectator of this show that only pristine nature can give.
