Initially the Miami Botanical Garden was built in 1962, but a severe economic crisis followed by Hurricane Andrew in 1992 destroyed it. Today the garden with its 10,000 square meters, houses plants, flowers and a Japanese garden.
On Wednesday mornings, a market is set up with various local and organic products.
