The Sigurtà Garden Park is a 60-hectare nature park located in Valeggio sul Mincio, in the province of Verona. Winner of the second prize of Most Beautiful Park in Europe 2015 and Most Beautiful Park in Italy 2013. The Sigurtà Garden Park hosts countless naturalistic and historical attractions: in the months of March and April you can admire a million tulips, which represent the most important flowering in Italy and the richest in Southern Europe; the avenue of roses, which hosts 30,000 remontant roses from May to September; an extraordinary labyrinth, eighteen mirrors of water, where aquatic plants bloom between June and July, and immense green meadows.
The park was acquired by the Sigurtà family in 1941, who exploited the waters of the river Mincio to change the arid hills into an area full of greenery, today visited every year by thousands of Italians and foreigners. The park covers a surface area of 600 sq. Meters, with walkways and paths alongside 18 lakes, an immense meadow, Romeo and Juliet’s lookout, a hermitage, an oasis of medicinal plants, a big oak tree and horizontal sundial, and the little ones can discover the animal world and life on the farm in the Educational Play Farm. Simply beautiful to walk through, the park also features a shuttle train service accompanying visitors through all 7 kilometers of the route, and bicycles and golf carts can also be rented. Fast food kiosks and playgrounds for picnics are also available.
