Amazing place worth to see it. We went from parking in the valley. It is the easier way quite well marked which is expected to take ca 2 hours. There are two springs with drinking water during the way and third one is at the entry to the canyon. Do not forget to take good sun protection in hot days.
Parking is for 6€ a day there is also a small bar.
Entry to the canyon is for 5€ and it is good investment.
Enjoy the tour!
This is such an incredible and beautiful place! We did the whole hike down from Hotel Gorropu at the top and it was all worth it. There’s a beautiful little paradise at the bottom of the hike trail and outside of the canyon where you can relax for a bit and maybe go for a swim in the fresh and ice cold mountain water! The canyon itself is breathtaking. It’s a bit of a climb inside over all the boulders and the route is not mapped out, but it’s such an adventure where you can take beautiful pictures and enjoy Sardinian nature at its best! In summer it might be a bit too hot to do, but just make sure to bring lots of water, don’t underestimate it and wear proper gear and you’ll never forget this experience!
Great spot down in the valley. Do no forget to bring your swimming suits for a jump in the small natural pools at the entrance to the gorge.
As others pointed out. Bring enough water and also something to eat, as the way back is exhausting.
And yes, you need to pay 5€ to enter the gorge itself. Quite surprising, but maybe they take care of the path to the valley itself for the money.
i very much recommend this trip. took my wife and i 90 minutes to walk down and 90 to walk back up. be prepared for an exhausting hike up :) but well worth it. you’ll meet nice goats on the way randomly walking around eating. we wore hiking boots but probably will be ok with decent sneakers too. gorgeous place
