Casa Romei is the only building in Ferrara that still manages to convey the charm and atmosphere of an elegant building built between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Giovanni Romei's home is a unique example of early 15th century architecture in Ferrara.
On the ground floor the original and magnificent decorations of a taste between the late Gothic and the Renaissance are conserved: the hall of the Sibyls and the hall of the Prophets. The museum part, which offers the view of precious frescoes detached from now lost Ferrara buildings and preserves precious paintings and sculptures by great artists such as Donatello or Alfonso Lombardi, gives the visitor the opportunity to discover an ancient Ferrara that no longer exists.
