Preikestolen, as nynorsk is called in Norwegian (Prekestolen in Norwegian bokmål, Pulpit rock in Italian, Hyvlatonnå in Old Norwegian), is a 604-metre-high granite cliff which ends overhanging the Lysefjord, opposite the Kjeragbolten, near of the village of Forsand (Norway). The number of tourists in 2012 was on the rise compared to previous years: visited by around 200,000 people, Preikestolen is today one of the most popular sites in the Scandinavian country.
