Niagara Falls (in English Niagara Falls in French chutes du Niagara), located in northeastern North America, between the USA and Canada, are among the most famous waterfalls in the world due to their sheer size. These are not particularly high waterfalls (only 52 m of jump) and their fame is certainly linked to the spectacular nature of the scenery, due to their vast water front and impressive flow rate, which can be estimated at over 168,000 m³ per minute in full and about 110,000 m³ as an average. Nonetheless, they represent the largest waterfall in North America and among the largest waterfalls in the world as well as being probably the best known. They are about half the size of Victoria Falls in Africa (on the Zambia-Zimbabwe border).
