Punta delle Formiche beach is located in the South-Eastern Sicilian extremity, in the territory of Pachino and the so-called Pantano Ponterio. This stretch of coast is characterized by the alternation of rocks and beaches of very fine sand. The sea is clear and transparent.
the name "Punta delle Formiche" seems to be due to the particular arrangement of the rocks which extend from the mainland towards the sea gradually reducing in size, as if to form a small column of ants. Punta delle Formiche consists of a point of sandstone rock, flanked by a strip of beach with very fine sand set between the white rocks and a cobalt-colored crystalline sea, all to be experienced.
