The Chiaramontano castle in Naro is a fortress built in the Middle Ages by the Chiaramonte family. It stands on the top of a hill formerly called "Mount Agragante".
Inside the walls there is a large courtyard with a well, overlooked by the garrison quarters, the chapel and the stables. Inside you will find two typically Gothic mullioned windows that illuminate the large "Sala del Principe", located on the first floor of the tower, and a very detailed Aragonese shield has also been walled up in the tower. In the castle you can visit the permanent exhibition of period clothing "Vento di donne", a collection of clothes (mostly women's) and accessories from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
