The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is a funeral monument dedicated to the Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh located in the city of Hanoi. It is located in the center of Ba Ðình Square, the same place where Ho read the declaration of independence that started the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945. Construction work began on 2 September 1973 and ended on 29 August 1975. The mausoleum was built using gray granite, stones of various colors were used inside, including grey, black and red.
On the facade stands the inscription "Chủ tịch Hồ Chí Minh", which means "President Ho Chi Minh".
