Cúc Phương National Park is part of Ninh Bình province, in the delta of the Red River. It lies at the foot of the Northern Annamite Range, and consists of verdant karst mountains and lush valleys, ranging in height from 150 meters to 656 meters. Cúc Phương is home to an amazing variety of flora and fauna. The park's inhabitants include 97 mammal species, 300 bird species, 36 reptile species, 17 amphibian species, 11 fish species, and 2,000 vascular plant species.
it was Vietnam's first national park and is the largest nature reserve in the country.
