The basilica of San Zeno in Verona is one of the Romanesque masterpieces in Italy. It is spread over three levels and the current structure was set up in the X-XI century. The saint's name is sometimes reported in two other ways, and thus the basilica of Verona is sometimes named: San Zeno Maggiore or San Zenone. Among the many works of art, it houses a masterpiece by Andrea Mantegna, the altarpiece of San Zeno. In May 1973 Pope Paul VI elevated it to the dignity of a minor basilica.
