Piazza dei Signori, also known as Piazza Dante, is a square located in the historic center of Verona, adjacent to Piazza delle Erbe. The square was born in the Middle Ages from the development of the Scaligeri palaces, and assumed political, administrative and representative functions right from the start. The square is framed by some monumental buildings, connected by arches and loggias. For some years Piazza Dante has been crossed every Wednesday evening by hundreds of young people and university students who have chosen it as a meeting and socializing place. Between guitars, flamenco dances and capoeira "battles" it quickly established itself as the new social phenomenon in Verona, involving more and more people and also attracting the many tourists who populate the city in summer.
