Canada Place

Architectural Structure Vancouver, Canada

The living heart of the city Canada Place

Canada Place is a building located on the waterfront of Burrand Inlet in Vancouver. Designed by the architect Eberhard Zeidler, it was built between 1983 and 1985 and extended in 2001. It is one of Vancouver's most distinctive buildings; its white "sails" are often compared to the Sydney Opera House and Denver International Airport. It is primarily used as an exhibition space, trade shows, and conventions (the first was Expo 86), but also includes a hotel and the Vancouver World Trade Center, and served as a cruise ship terminal until 2009.

In 2009 a sister building was built to the northeast of the original one, with additional exhibition spaces.
