The Teatro Regio di Torino is the opera house of the city of Turin, as well as one of the largest and most important in Italy, and one of the most important Italian theaters on the European and international scene. Built in 1740, it was destroyed by fire in 1936 and rebuilt in 1973; the facade remains of the original building.
