"Petes", an old word from the Trieste dialect lives on in via dei Capitelli, in the Cavana area. "Petes" stands for wine or generally alcoholic. The Al Petes tavern offers traditional Trieste dishes such as the jota, the soup de bisi spacai, the bread or potato gnocchi with goulash, the calandraca, and the meatballs in Carso wine, the "Terrano", and again the " water heater".
