The Big Buddha is a buddha statue, about 45 meters high, which is located on the highest peak of the Nakkerd hills. Given its considerable height, this statue is visible from almost all of the south of the island. Its construction started in 1998, but it is not finished yet, in fact they are currently adding a grand staircase.
