The Medici Fortress (also known as Forte di Santa Barbara) of Siena is a fort erected in the Tuscan city between 1561 and 1563, on the orders of the Duke of Florence Cosimo I de' Medici. The fortress stands near the Sienese district of San Prospero, next to the Artemio Franchi stadium.
