The Japanese Tea Garden is the oldest Japanese public garden in the United States. This complex of several paths, ponds and a tea house features plants and trees trimmed and arranged in a Japanese style. The 3-acre garden contains sculptures and structures influenced by Buddhist and Shinto religious beliefs, as well as many water and rock elements to create a soothing landscape designed to slow people down.
