The Botanical Garden and Museum of Pisa or more simply the Botanical Garden of Pisa is an educational-scientific structure of the University Museum System of the University of Pisa. Inside the botanical garden we find different sectors. In the Arboretum area there are numerous species of conifers and amentiferous trees, an ancient Magnolia grandiflora and a Ginko Biloba. In the systematic collection we find about 45 flower beds with 4 fountains where there are 550 species of plants belonging to 39 families. 140 medicinal plants are housed in the medicinal flora, an area known as the "Orto del Mirto". The area of aquatic plants houses a collection of many native plants such as in the Mediterranean Geophytes area; finally, in the Succulent area, there is a greenhouse collection of some more primitive plants.
