Palawan is the fifth largest island in the Philippines. The northwestern coast of the island lies along the South China Sea, while the southeastern coast is part of the northern limit of the Sulu Sea. Most of the island remains deeply rooted in its traditions and is considered by some to be undeveloped. Abundant wildlife, jungle mountains and some white sand beaches attract many tourists, as well as international companies looking for development opportunities.
