North of Norway is the Saltstraumen, considered the largest whirlpool in the world. Every 6 hours in the Norwegian Sea, about 400 million cubic meters of water flow at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour, forming a huge vortex called a maelstorm. This natural phenomenon is caused by tides and currents, which contribute to the formation of whirlpools about 10 meters wide and 5 meters deep.
