Røros is a municipality in Sør-Trøndelag county in Norway, located in the central Gauldelen region. The origins of the town date back to the year 1530 when it was built on the land of the Røraas farm, from which it took its name. In 1980 it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and in 2013 it received the certification of "Sustainable Tourism" thanks to its commitment to reduce the environmental impact of tourism while ensuring a quality experience for its visitors.
