Surrounded by steep mountains, rushing waterfalls and narrow valleys lies the small village of Flåm. The village of Flåm has been an important tourist destination since the late 19th century. Every year it has about 450,000 visitors. Most of them come to Flåm to ride the Flåmsbana, the railway line described as the steepest in Europe.
