Ålesund is a municipality in Møre og Romsdal county. This locality has a very picturesque layout as it occupies seven islets on the western Norwegian coast. See the quirky buildings downtown, visit the Sunnmore museum, and don't miss the Jugendstil art center. It is the most important locality in the Sunnmøre district and during the 1950s and 1960s was considered Norway's fishing capital.
