Dedicated to the patron saint of Ireland, in total dissonance with the contemporary urban background, we find this imposing church located in Manhattan, more precisely on 5th Avenue between 50th and 51st streets.
The largest decorated Gothic cathedral in the North American area was built starting from 1858 at the same time as the appointment of the diocese of New York to "Archdiocese" sanctioned by the then Pope Pius IX. Step inside to marvel at the high ceilings, 3,700 stained glass panels, and replica of Michelangelo's Pietà (three times the size of the original). There are also works of art by artisans from all over the world. It can seat up to 3,000 people and measured from the ground up to the spiers is 100.6 meters high.
