The curious name of this neighborhood is actually the acronym of "Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass" which translated is "Under the Manhattan Bridge overpass". The neighborhood includes a small area between the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge. The area is best known for its arts events.

You'll quickly notice that the neighborhood has been carved out of many factory-style buildings that have been reimagined into elegant lofts. DUMBO today is a very chic place, made especially for art and fashion lovers. Walking through the streets of the neighborhood, you will come across numerous art galleries, fashion and design studios. You will also be fed with the artists themselves and this will make your visit even more enjoyable. The only advice to follow is to visit the area an hour before sunset, when you can admire the skyscrapers of Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge, which color as the sun goes down.
