Discovering history in Brooklyn Brooklyn Historical Society

Brooklyn Historical Society is a renowned center of Brooklyn and New York urban history, with unparalleled collections and an outstanding library. The romantic building, with a beautiful Renaissance style, is located on the corner of Pierrepoint and Clinton streets in Brooklyn.

You will find yourself in front of a building with terracotta details and busts of Michelangelo, Beethoven, Gutenberg, Shakespeare and many others. In addition to highlighting all that is unique about Brooklyn and its people, this center provides you with historical material, even 400 years old, to introduce you to all the evolution of New York and its boroughs. In particular, you will be able to pass between your fingers historical maps of the city of New York, or watch microfilms on what was the daily life in the districts of the Big Apple.
