On the banks of the Conservatory Pond, an artificial lake in the heart of Central Park, there are statues dedicated to Alice in Wonderland, by José de Creeft (1959), and to the fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen, by G.L. Lober (1956). The gigantic statue of Alice in Wonderland represents her sitting on a huge mushroom, surrounded by the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter and a Dormouse.
Here children and adults can climb mushrooms, hug Alice, climb the Mad Hatter and take fun photographs. Don't miss it on a tour of green Central Park.
