9/11 Memorial

Museum New York, New York

In Memory of the victims of 9/11 9/11 Memorial

The 9/11 Museum is a national museum, located at the headquarters of the World Trade Center Foundation, whose purpose is to remember and honor the thousands of innocent victims including men, women and children who were killed by terrorists during the horrific attacks that hit the Twin Towers on February 26, 1993 and September 11, 2001.

The 9/11 Memorial pays tribute not only to the nearly 3,000 victims of the terrorist attacks, but also to the thousands who survived and all those who risked their lives trying to save others. The 9/11 Museum offers visitors the opportunity to learn not only about the history of the World Trade Center, but also about the lives of the victims who were killed in the attacks of 2001 and 1993, who are remembered through multimedia contributions, documents of archives, stories, and featuring an array of monumental authentic World Trade Center artifacts. A place steeped in history, where you can relive the tragic moments of that day that marked the city of NY and the whole world.

I was in DC and NYC for six days as a tourist and visited several places. This was easily the most powerful place of my trip, quite possible of my life. It's very well organized and invokes a wide range of emotions. The memorials and narratives were fascinating. We had only 90 minutes before we had to leave and I was not able to see everything. I'd recommend at least 2-3 hours set aside for this memorial. Worth the price of admission. I'd like to go back again someday.

Awesome memorial! We came down here just after touring One World Trade. It was an overcast day but that made for better views. We were there at 11:30 AM and the crowds weren’t all that bad. I would go a little earlier of I could do it again. Such an incredible memorial and it’s amazing to see how much care was put into memorializing where the twin towers used to stand. I have not been to the site since shortly after 9/11 and it’s unbelievable to see the area now. So glad we came!

A must see to see how a great city came together to honor those who helped through America's most tragic event and for remembrance of those that were not able to survive it. It will humble you, make you think what is important in life, and bring tears of you were around or even watched it on the news. The actual audios of in-the-moment while on the planes and at the Pentagon of individuals, will move you. I recommend the outdoor tour along doing the audio tour indoors. Be prepared to be there for half a day if doing both. But well worth the visit.

What is there to say except this is a must see. You don’t really have an option. It’s hard to imagine all the devastation when you step inside but they do it justice. You can really feel the emotion and loss in every step. You develop a huge appreciation for fire fighters and volunteers and just everyone. It’s tragedies like this that bring people together. But....when will it stop. When will people learn. You just want to shake your head. Nonetheless this is not to be missed.
