Durbar Square is located in the historical center of the city of Patan in Nepal. It is one of three Durbar Squares found in the Kathmandu Valley, all three of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. One of its attractions is the presence of the royal palace where the kings of the Malla dynasty resided. The square is a marvel of Newa architecture and is paved with red bricks.
There are several temples and idols in the area, and the main temples are lined up in front of the western facade of the palace. Also facing the square are old Newari residences. There are various other temples around Durbar square built by Newa.
