The Vesuvius National Park was born on 5 June 1995 due to the great geological, biological and historical interest that its territory represents. The park develops around the Somma-Vesuvio volcanic complex and the headquarters are located in the municipality of Ottaviano, in the province of Naples. The peculiarity of this Park is represented by the remarkable presence of flora and fauna species if it is compared to its small size: there are 612 species belonging to the plant world and 227 species belonging to the animal one.
