Delos is an island of Greece, it is part of the Cyclades archipelago and is located near the island of Mykonos. In ancient times the island was called Ortigia (Ortyghia), and several archaeological finds have shown that the island was already inhabited since 3000 BC. The island today is practically uninhabited and is an immense archaeological site that attracts tourists from all over the world. Since 1990 it has been included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
