Bolshoi Theatre

The Bolshoi Theater, or the Great Theater, is a historic theater in Moscow. The building was built in 1824, to replace the previous Petrovsky Theater, but about 30 years later a fire completely destroyed this structure which was reopened in 1856. Today it is the headquarters of the Accademia del Balletto, one of the most renowned schools in terms of classical dance. This theater is also depicted on the 100-ruble coin.
