The cave of the bats represents a complex system of two caves located in an area full of other caverns, which were used as a shelter for the herds by the local shepherds. In the past, when the cave was discovered by Ridola, the latter immediately realized that it was a system of caves connected to each other through partly collapsed connections of which, the initial part, which turned towards the East, appeared to be larger size. The excavations brought to light a large quantity of finds belonging to different historical periods, from the Paleolithic to the Middle Ages.
